Application for 2022 Woodlands High School Art Trust collection opens September 1

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands High School Art Trust (TWHSAT) has announced that nominations will open for entry into its 2022 collection on September 1, 2022.

TWHSAT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports the Student Art Trust Committee. The Student Committee oversees the application process for work by Texas Jury Artists, to be added to its student-selected and purchased professional art collection.

Submissions will be narrowed down to approximately 12 pieces which will be voted on by the entire student body, approximately 4,000 students, and the top picks will be purchased and added to the TWHSAT collection at school.

The application deadline is October 9, 2022 and TWHSAT encourages artists to submit works they wish to sell.

If your work is one of the 12 that will be voted on by the entire student body in mid-November, you will be notified in mid-October.

Terms:

  • Artwork is limited to drawings, paintings, mixed media, printmaking, photography and digital media.
  • Works of art must be able to be hung with the appropriate hardware.
  • The artist must be a current resident of Texas, a sworn artist and at least 22 years old.

The Woodlands High School Art Trust, (TWHSAT), a 501(c)3 organization, was established in 2011 to help maintain, preserve and exhibit the collection of established artists selected and purchased by students at The Woodlands High School. The vision for TWHSAT is to see the art collection grow every year and expand into the halls of the high school. The students use the funds from their homecoming dance to purchase the artwork.
