Shenhe’s best build uses a number of meta-artifacts and weapons from Genshin Impact, which help maximize the damage of the 5-Star Cryo character.
Genshin Impact’s Shenhe Banner will likely be released as part of the upcoming 2.4 patch, which will feature a new area (Enkanomiya), Keqing / Ningguang, and Yun Jin skins. While miHoYo has yet to reveal official information about Shenhe, that hasn’t stopped a number of leaks from popping up online.
Not only have the latest Genshin Impact leaks revealed details about Shenhe’s abilities, but they’ve also given us a glimpse of how she’ll play on her debut. Much like Eula, Shenhe dominates the battlefield with AoE Cryo abilities, freezing opponents in place, before smashing them with his polearm.
When Shenhe is equipped with the best artifacts and weapons, she can melt through the toughest enemies in the game.
Shenhe abilities in Genshin Impact
- Normal attack: Shenhe performs up to five quick polearm hits.
- Charged attack: Shenhe consumes some stamina and throws himself forward with his polearm, striking all nearby enemies.
- Plunging attack: Shenhe dives from the air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the way and inflicting AoE DMG on impact.
Elemental skill of Shenhe: Summon Spirit of Spring
Shenhe grants all nearby allies the Icy Quill effect and inflicts Cryo damage. When Normal, Charged, Diving Skills, Elemental Skills, and Element Burst deal Cryogenic damage to enemies, the damage dealt is increased based on Shenhe’s current attack.
The Ice Feather will be erased once its duration ends or after a certain number of stacks have been consumed.
Shenhe unleashed the power of the Talisman Spirit, allowing it to move freely, dealing AoE Cryo damage to all nearby enemies. The Talisman Spirit then creates a field that decreases opponents’ cryogenic resistance, allowing Shenhe to deal even more damage with his abilities.
The constellations of Shenhe
If you’re lucky enough to unlock multiple copies of Shenhe, you’ll gain access to some of her awesome Constellation Buffs.
- Level 1 – Clarity of heart: Summon the Spring Spirit can be used once more.
- Level 2 – Centered Mind: Divine Maiden’s deliverance lasts six seconds longer. Characters active in the skill field deal 15% more damage to cryogenic crit.
- Level 3 – Isolation: Increases the Summon Spirit of Spring level by three. The maximum upgrade level is five.
- Level 4 – Insight: When characters under the effect of Icy Quill trigger his bonus damage effects, Shenhe will gain a Skyfrost Mantra stack. When Shene uses Spring Spirit Summoning, she consumes all Skyfrost Mantra stacks, increasing damage by 5% for each stack consumed. Maximum of 50 batteries. The batteries last 60 seconds.
- Level 5 – Divine Achievement: Increases Divine Maiden’s deliverance level by three. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
- Level 6 – Mystical Abandonment: When characters trigger Icy Quill effects using normal and charged attacks, no Icy Quill stacks will be used.
Best Shenhe Artifacts in Genshin Impact
Shenhe’s best construction uses the Blizzard Wandering Set, which increases the crit rate of the polearm user when an opponent is affected by Cryo. To make matters even better, if Shenhe’s enemies are frozen, his crit rate is further increased.
As Shenhe’s abilities are all designed to deal massive amounts of damage, having a set that directly increases CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, ATK%, and Cryo DMG is a must for any traveler who wants to maximize their DPS.
While other sets of artifacts will likely be viable upon release, for now, Blizzard Strayer appears to be the main contender.
|Blizzard Wandering||2 Piece Set Bonus: Cryo DMG Bonus + 15%.
4 Piece Set Bonus: When a character attacks an opponent affected by Cryo, their critical rate is increased by 20%. If the opponent is frozen, the critical rate is increased by an additional 20%.
|Bonus set 2 pieces: ATQ + 18%.
Best Shenhe Weapon in Genshin Impact
The best pole weapon of Shenhe is the spine to the sky. This 5-star weapon increases its CRIT rate by 8% and increases normal ATK SPD by 12%. Additionally, normal and charged attacks on opponents have a 50% chance to trigger a Void Blade that inflicts 40% of ATK in DMG in a small area of ââeffect.
It works wonders when used with the additional critical rate of the Blizzard Strayer set, which will ensure that you consistently maximize Shenhe’s damage. If you don’t have access to Skyward Spine, then Primal Jade Wing Spear and Lithic spear are your next best options.
Shenhe Talent Leveling and Climbing Material
Shenhe Talent and Ascension materials can be found in Mondstadt, Inazuma, and Liyue, which means you’ll be able to start farming most items before it’s released. In order to level up and ride Shenhe, you will have to fight the Vishaps bathysmal – a new boss that can be found in Enkanomiya.
This boss drops the Dragon Heir False Fin and other rare items. Meanwhile, the usual Energy nectar and Lessons from prosperity can be found through Liyue. As Shenhe excels as a primary damage dealer, you’ll want to maximize his normal attack and elemental skill to help generate elemental reactions. Once that’s at maximum, simply pump the rest of the levels into his Burst.

Shenhe Genshin Impact Trailer
MiHoYo has yet to release the official trailer for Shenhe’s character, but the renowned leaker, @Genshin_Intel, uploaded a video of Shenhe’s inactive animations and inactive abilities in the game. It’s here that we see how the never-before-seen character will behave upon release.
Shenhe can be seen using his normal and charged attacks, before unleashing his elemental skill and elemental burst. We’ll update this section with the official video when the Cryo user debuts.
Best Shenhe Team Composition
The best Shenhe team roster uses Ganyu, Mona, and Jeans. Having another Cryo character like Ganyu will increase your crit rating by 15% against enemies frozen or affected by Cryo. This buff should be constantly in effect, especially since Mona will be able to constantly freeze all enemies grouped together with her elemental skill and burst.
Ganyu’s Elemental Skill will also allow Shenhe to continuously attack his targets without fear of being targeted, while Ganyu’s Elemental Shatter deals even more AoE Cryo damage.
This composition can use Shenhe as the main DPS or as a support, which gives you great flexibility. If you don’t have Ganyu, Ayaka is another great choice that will help you maximize the DPS of this mockup.
Obviously, having decent survivability is important for any melee-focused team build, so we used Jean as our final choice. Not only can Jean provide vital healing with his Burst, the additional whirlwind effect will also help distribute Cryo’s damage to nearby enemies.
So there you have it, Genshin Impact’s best Shenhe build. We’ll be sure to update this guide once more details are revealed, so be sure to come back here once Shenehe is officially released. Be sure to check out our other Genshin Impact character guides:
