Hope Arts Gallery hosts the Retrospective 13 exhibition in the Back Room – Hope Standard gallery

Retrospective 13 is the latest exhibition to grace the walls of the Back Room Gallery at the Hope Arts Gallery (349 Fort Street).

The show opens March 2 and runs until March 27.

According to a press release from the Hope Arts Gallery, the 13 retrospective features artwork initiated during class and studio time over the past year, and it will have an interactive component.

“Because we want people to see the learning process of using paper for card making, clay for sculpting, or watercolor and acrylic for painting, this year, we will offer exercises as well as finished products,” the press release reads. “Learning should be fun and we encourage curiosity and a willingness to play and let go of rigid expectations.

“If you’ve ever wanted to try card making, ceramic carving, or painting, come see our show and discover the opportunities that await you at the Art Machine.”

Visual Arts Studio A and Pottery Studio B were closed due to COVID-19 restrictions for much of 2021, with many classes limited in attendance and duration.

However, the Art Machine is fully open for business and is looking forward to a productive 2022.

The 13 retrospective opens in the Back Room Gallery, from March 2 to 27.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and admission is free.

The Hope Arts Gallery operates under the Hope District Arts Council and is run by volunteers.
