Learn how to find each artifact in Tales of the Ascension, and how to use them. Artifacts are key elements that offer various improvements in Tales of the Ascension, affecting everything from rewards to combat changes. Additionally, some artifacts provide passive effects that remain active once acquired in Tales of the Ascension, and others can be deactivated and reactivated at any time.

Tales of the Ascension has a total of 23 Artifacts to find, and most of them can be found towards the end of the game. However, anyone looking to start a new game + should find as many Artifacts as possible in their first game, because all of them artifacts are preserved. Unlocking artifacts will also pay off Tales of the Ascension Securities. Additionally, multiple Artifacts are earned from a number of paid DLC packs, but everything listed below will contain the locations and uses of the Artifacts found in the standard version of Tales of the Ascension.

For anyone who has already acquired DLC packs with artifacts, simply claim the DLC from the game’s unclaimed DLC list to claim the rewards. These artifacts will immediately become part of the inventory, so there is nothing left to find. For every other artifact, more will be earned through in-game progression throughout Tales of the Ascension, while others can be found by completing challenges, opening chests, or completing sub-quests.

These are the 23 artifacts inside Tales of the Ascension, where they can be found, and what each of them does:

  • Crocodile crusher – First artifact obtained in Tales of the Ascension as part of the story. Doubles the number of Artes usable on the ground and in the air.
  • Quivering candles – Complete the sub-quest “The Mysterious Pair” in Niez halfway through Tales of the Ascension. Increases the amount of ore received from mining and stacks with similar effects.
  • The wolverine labyrinth – Complete the “Gourmet Saga: Prairie Scent” sub-quest in Aqfotle Hill halfway through Tales of the Ascension. All Cooking Buffs last 10% longer and stack with similar effects.
  • Sealing blade – Found in a red chest in the Old Tower of Lake Adan. Limits all attacks from players and enemies to a single damage.
  • Drums of the Master – Found in a red chest in Aureum Falls. Increases the number of Battle Points gained in battle by 20% and stacks with similar effects.
  • Lucky cat statue – Complete the “Echoes” sub-quest in Nietz towards the end of the game. Increases the amount of SP gained by 20% and stacks with similar effects.
  • The glutton code – Complete the “Global Connection” sub-quest in Mosgul near the end of the game. Cooking buffs last 20% longer, increasing maximum healing points and stacking with similar effects.
  • Silver armor – Complete the quest “The missing lover”, the sub-quest “Their future” in Pelegion. Increases the amount of XP gained by 20% and stacks with similar effects.
  • Hell demon skull – Complete Dohalim’s Advanced Solo Challenge in Elde Manancia. Increases player and enemy power by 100%.
  • Golden lucky cat statuette – Complete the “Indomitable Rage” sub-quest in Thistlym near the end of the game. Increases SP gains by 80% and stacks with similar effects.
  • Golden armor – Complete the “Spirit Temple” sub-quest on Traslida Highway near the end of the game. Increases XP gains by 80% and stacks with similar effects.
  • The glutton’s guide – Complete the sub-quest “The Ghost Flower of Nevira” in Altarina Palace near the end of the game. Cooking buffs last 80% longer and stack with similar effects. This buff further increases the maximum healing points in Tales of the Ascension.
  • Drum of the Legend – Complete the “Farewell, Mage” sub-quest in Niez towards the end of the game. Increases the number of battle points gained by 80% and stacks with similar effects.
  • Devil Sculpture – Complete Dohalim’s Ultimate Solo Challenge in Elde Manancia. Allows players to select the Chaos difficulty level in the settings menu.
  • Golden fairy statue – Complete the sub-quest “A Lesson in Humility” in Cyslodia near the end of the game. Increases the amount of ore received from mining and stacks with similar effects.
  • Mechanical doll accessory – Found in a Red Chest after defeating Chronos in the Final Rift during the “Visitors from Another World” sub-quest. This quest can only be started after completing Tales of the Ascension. This artifact makes players invisible to all enemies.

  • Living sphere – Receive this artifact of an owl in Iglia Wastes. Find 32 owls and head over to Rena to receive a message indicating where the next owl locations are. Allows players to keep game records in New Game +
  • Shield of the Fighting Maiden – Receive this artifact of an owl in the lord’s chamber at Glanymede Castle. Find 32 owls and head over to Rena to get a message about where to find the next owls. This artifact allows players to keep all of their gear when starting a new game +.
  • Broken machine gun – Receive this artifact of an owl in the hidden room of the tower of the Riville prison. Find 32 owls and head over to Rena to get a message about where to find the next owls. This artifact allows players to keep all of their Galds when starting a new game +.
  • Trident – Receive this artifact of an owl in the Lord’s Chamber at Del Fharis Castle. Find 32 owls and head over to Rena to get a message where the next owls can be found. This artifact allows players to keep all of their skills unlocked when starting a new game +.
  • Old shovel – Receive this artifact of an owl in the Guard Room of Altarina Palace. Find 32 owls and head over to Rena to get a message about where the next owls can be found. This artifact allows players to retain all of their levels and experience when starting a new game +.
  • Metal miner’s cap – Receive this artifact from an owl on the uninhabited island. Find 32 owls and head over to Rena to get a message about where to find the next owls. Next, head to Tuah Seashore to find a Message in a Bottle that begins the “Beyond the Grave” sub-quest. This artifact allows players to keep all of their Arte usage stats when starting a new game +.
  • Machine Beast Statue – Find all 38 owls in Tales of the Ascension. This artifact allows players to keep all unlocked items Tales of the Ascension costumes when starting a new game +.
