CAPITAL REGION, NY – MVP Health Care and the National Fitness Campaign (NFC) recently announced the launch of a statewide partnership to build 10-15 state-of-the-art outdoor fitness fields in the communities of New York and Vermont. The MVP Health Care Fitness Courts will be built in easily accessible public spaces from 2022.
The Fitness Court is a free 7-minute outdoor full body workout system for adults of all ages and fitness levels. As part of an effort launched by NFC to activate public spaces, encourage healthy lifestyles, and create equitable access to outdoor exercise programs, the fitness field will be a mainstay of exercise in both. States and builds on the success of MVP’s first Fitness Court, which launched in the city of Rochester in 2019.

MVP and NFC are asking local governments or universities who wish to have a Fitness Court in their city or on their campus to apply for funding. Winners will receive wellness toolkit, education, design resources to help plan, fund, build and launch their MVP and NFC outdoor fitness pitch.
Community members will also have access to digital coaching on the free Fitness Court app, which serves as a handy guide and ‘personal trainer in your pocket’. This self-guided mobile assistance makes it easy for users to learn how to stay fit in just 7 minutes a day, moving at their own pace and according to their ability level. The content is available for individuals and groups to use on the fitness field.
